In early 2015, bassist Benjamin Tiberio moved to New York City where he is gaining recognition as a leading voice on bass of his generation. Originally from Rochester, New York, Benjamin received his bachelor’s degree in jazz performance from the University of Miami on full scholarship. In addition to being a versatile instrumentalist, he is also an accomplished composer, and has been recognized by ASCAP for his work. Benjamin has performed at premier NYC jazz venues such as Jazz at Lincoln Center’s Dizzy’s Club, Minton’s Playhouse, Smoke Jazz Club, and the Jazz Gallery, as well as jazz festivals across the US and abroad. His talents have taken him to countries across five different continents, and he has performed and/or recorded with many of today’s most notable jazz artists, including Danilo Perez, Brian Lynch, Kenny Barron, Herlin Riley, Terell Stafford, Gretchen Parlato, Jazzmeia Horn, Ben Wendel, Tyshawn Sorey, Will Vinson, Chad Lefkowitz-Brown, Johnathan Blake, and Aaron Goldberg.
